Public Relations

Autumn Campaign

With the launch of the autumn campaign, Cox Marketing are busy securing media interest in Gippsland events. They have also organised some famils of the region focused specifically on food and wine. A journalist from The Age Epicure recently visited Latrobe Valley.

As part of the villages campaign, Channel Nine's The Today Show will visit Metung and Lakes Entrance in April to record the live weather crosses. This is great exposure for East Gippsland as the Weather Crosses will be shown to a national audience.

Recent activity

As part of the villages campaign, The Today Show visited Walhalla on 5 November to film the weather crosses which were aired live. The six weather crosses were presented by Channel Nine’s Stevie Jacobs and featured the Walhalla Goldmines Railway, Walhalla’s Star Hotel, the hilltop cemetery, gold panning in the creek and the old fire station. This public relations opportunity was a part of Tourism Victoria’s Villages Campaign currently underway across the state.
Our PR team at Cox Marketing secured several famils focused on waterways and coastal areas of Gippsland as part of the Summer Marketing Campaign. Among these are journalists from Herald Sun (Mallacoota), Q Magazine (Metung), Australian Country Style (Gippsland Lakes) and The Australian featuring water-based activities.

The Herald Sun published a double page spread about Wilsons Promontory in early December. A feature on Mira Mira Bed and Breakfast was published in the December issue of New Idea in a "Weirdest Hotel" segment. A feature on bushwalking for kids was also published in the children's magazine, DMAG in the December issue.
