Mystery Shoppers are Visiting Gippsland Businesses

Destination Gippsland is now receiving expressions of interest to be involved in our next round of the tourism auditing program. Audits will commence in early 2012.

As part of the process businesses are "mystery shopped" by an independent third party. The purpose of the audit is to independently and objectively measure, track and assess the actual customer experience being delivered in our region, providing an honest snapshot of how we are performing against other Victorian regions in the following categories:

- Accommodation
- Restaurants/ cafes
- Attractions
- Retail

All participating businesses will receive an extensive report including scoring for day-to-day operations, first impressions, presentation, quality of the overall experience and the likelihood of return visitation and recommendation to others.  

As an addition to the service Destination Gippsland has made the commitment to provide extra value to participating businesses by offering a follow-up service to discuss report results and provide recommendations for improvement of the business. The cost of the audit will be met by Destination Gippsland. Operators will be expected to meet the auditor's expenses at their business.
